My Mission

MY MISSION IS TO ENHANCE THE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF CHILDREN THROUGH THE CHARACTER-BUILDING QUALITIES I FIND INHERENT IN THE GAME OF CHESS.

Methodology

Our approach is designed to evoke emotion in order to stimulate higher level thinking. Higher level thinking is more than simply knowing the facts. It enables a child to consider the facts of a given position and to competently hypothesize beyond those facts. We teach students to put facts together in new ways and to connect, categorize and infer from the known to the unknown on a constantly changing battlefield—the chess board.

We employ rhymes, stories and challenging intellectual exercises to stimulate our students. For instance, our catchy chess songs make the learning of chess piece movement simple and fun.

By searching for the truth of positions on the chess board, a child becomes accustomed to searching for the truth in life—for it is through repetition that all habits are formed—be they good or bad. As we sow our thoughts and actions, we reap our habits. As we sow our habits, we reap our character. As we sow our character, we reap our DESTINY.
